On A Personal Note...
You
Make A Difference
There is something unique about those in our
profession; the corporate trainers, training managers, directors,
CLO's, training specialists, professors, educators, teachers, technical
trainers, etc. Although our motivations to enter the training or education
fields often differ, our experiences and realizations are often the same.
This relates to making a difference, whether we realize it or not. It is
our unique combination of personality, drive, passion, care and desire to
make a difference with a human being that makes our trade so special.
Along the way we are often provided with opportunities
to take the personality assessments, leadership classes, attend
conferences, or other personal development related activities, which help
to make us more effective leaders and instructors. We learn how to practice
what we preach.
I was privileged to have entered this field as a
requirement to grow professionally. The result was nothing less than a
transformation. My story is below and included in this site hopefully as an
inspiration for those who desire to continue their own personal growth and
development.

Are
You Truly Happy?
This
is the question that helped me to change my life. When I stopped to
seriously consider this question regarding my life, I realized that the
answer was NO. In fact, I began to wonder what happiness really was. I
discovered a void and something within me desired to fill this void even
though I did not know how. I was scared to take a close and honest look at
myself. My growth began as I started to take a serious interest in my own
life and realized that it was only me who could change it. The search
initially was to understand why things were going wrong in my life since I
was tired of being frustrated and unhappy. I was experiencing problems in
my job, relationships with others, and with my spouse. I felt different,
alone, confused, and lost.
Then with the help of others, I discovered a number of
"tools" that were available to learn more about myself by identifying
the problems and issues I had and a means to overcome them. This began to
give me a framework to begin changing the unhealthy patterns and developing
new attitudes and behaviors. It was a very emotional and trying time, but
the results were worth the challenges many times over. I was now able to
begin addressing the questions regarding how I wanted to live my life. My
search for love and happiness was becoming real. I discovered new
interests, what I really enjoyed doing, new friends, etc. I was discovering
what I really wanted out of life and how to get it. I discovered Michael!
Discovering Michael is a story and workbook for those
interested in personal growth and self-discovery. It provides you with an
understanding of what the journey is like, along with the "tools"
that are necessary to achieve your own personal goals. Mostly, I hope, this
book will become a catalyst and inspiration for your own growth, and a
guide filled with bits of wisdom and suggestions to help you find and experience
the love and happiness you deserve in your own life!
